Listmonk
Self-hosted newsletter and mailing list manager.
by Kailash Nadh
Overview
listmonk is a high-performance newsletter and mailing list manager that runs entirely on your own hardware. Build and segment subscriber lists, design campaigns in a visual editor, send to thousands of recipients, and track opens and clicks, without handing your audience or your content to a third-party email-marketing service. A single fast Go binary backs a modern dashboard, and malmo provisions and manages the PostgreSQL database it needs, so there is nothing to set up on that front.
Features
- Build and segment subscriber lists, with import/export support
- Design campaigns in a visual, drag-and-drop editor
- Send bulk campaigns and track opens and clicks
- Transactional email API for sending one-off messages from your own apps
- Public subscription pages and forms for growing your lists
Setting up
On your first visit, create the Super Admin account. From there, add your SMTP server inside listmonk (Settings -> SMTP) to start sending campaigns.
Good to know
listmonk manages its own outgoing mail settings inside the app rather than through malmo's shared email configuration. Enter your mail provider's host, port, and credentials directly in Settings -> SMTP; a malmo-wide email account you've set up for other apps does not carry over here.
listmonk also bakes this app's own address into every outbound email it sends: unsubscribe links, click-tracking, view-in-browser, and archive links. Recipients can only open those links if this app's address is one they can actually reach, so confirm the public URL in Settings matches an address reachable from outside your network before relying on them.
