Jotty
Fast, file-based notes and checklists with a Markdown editor.
by fccview
Overview
Jotty (jotty·page) is a lightweight notes and checklist app for your home server. Write in a rich-text or Markdown editor, organize notes into folders, and keep simple task lists and checklists alongside them. Everything is stored as plain files in your own data directory, so there's no database to manage.
Features
- Rich-text or Markdown editor for notes, plus simple checklists and task lists
- Notes organized into folders, with an admin panel for managing user accounts
- Installable PWA with partial offline caching for phone and desktop
- Optional per-note PGP encryption and shareable links
- Local accounts by default, with OIDC single sign-on if you run your own identity provider
Setting up
On first visit you're redirected to a setup page to create the admin account; the first account you create becomes the administrator.
Good to know
Uploads over roughly 1 MB (images, drawio diagrams, avatars) currently fail; plain text notes and checklists are unaffected.
